We separated the system in Pesantren to the Teaching and Guidance System.

Teaching System

Teaching system is a part of educational system in our Pesantren. This line is responsible to increase the student's intellectual quality, several activities that are related to the teaching, which are done within intra-curricular activities. These activities are done and guided directly by the teachers who lived in our environment.

The activities involved in the Teaching System is teaching, which is generally done in the form of in-class session activity. In general, the materials that are given to the students are the combination between the boarding school curriculum, curriculum from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and curriculum from the Ministry of National Education.

At its essence, the main agenda that is done at this point is to debrief teaching and intellectual development of students which aims to create a vision of students and knowledgeable in various fields of science.

  • Classic manuscripts development
  • Library empowerment

Guidance System

This line plays its role in overseeing the students' life at the Pesantren environment, which is a boarding school environment. The agenda and programs provided to students on this aspect are intended to provide guidance and development to students in several aspects, that is ethics, personality, manner and behavior. This activity is done in the forms as follows:

  • Organizing and supervising the implementation of discipline
  • Overseeing dormitory cleanliness and order
  • Overseeing the implementation of shalât (prayers)
  • Driving the implementation of foreign-language discipline
  • Develop students' interests and talents
  • Fostering students organization

Evaluation System

A proper and reasonable evaluation system is a decisive factor for quality of education. As a matter of fact, evaluation system applied in Daar el-Qolam is conducted comprehensively by adopting affective, cognitive and psychomotor aspects. Those aspects are:

  • Evaluation of Attitude and personality
  • Evaluation of compliance to discipline
  • Evaluation of oral test
  • Evaluation of written test

Taking those aspects into account, promotion of students to higher class/graduation is determined by a special meeting attended by some teachers and educators in charge of students' assessment. The members of the meeting are:

  • Teaching Council
  • Nurturing Council
  • Board of Teachers
  • Relevant Teachers
